If you feel more comfortable discussing your experiences and options with someone unrelated to TCNJ, a trusted organization exists very close to our community: Womanspace. They provide a 24 hour, confidential hotline, advocates and professionals to facilitate SART activation, access to legal resources, and individual and group counseling.

The Health & Wellness Unit within the Division of Student Affairs at TCNJ is excited to offer a user-friendly referral database for students, parents, faculty and staff members looking for mental health providers in the surrounding communities. The TCNJ Referral Database is curated and maintained by TCNJ clinicians. You can search with a variety of filters for therapy providers throughout Mercer County and the surrounding area. National Sexual Violence Resource Center

The nation’s leading resource center on sexual violence. Includes a search engine for the NSVRC library and other ways of accessing information.

Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape

PCAR is an organization working at the state and national levels to prevent sexual violence. PCAR uses its voice to challenge public attitudes, raise public awareness, and effect critical changes in public policy, protocols, and responses to sexual violence.

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN)

RAINN provides information and statistics on sexual assault and can locate a local rape crisis center in your area.

Information on the impact of rape, date rape drugs, facts and statistics, as well as a comprehensive list of links to other resources. Also provides sections on how to get help and how to help a friend.


Domestic/Dating Violence

National Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Extensive website providing information on how to protect oneself, ways to take action, public policy, programs offered and many other resources relating to domestic violence.

Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence

Providing advocacy for battered women, PCADV is a private non-profit organization with a statewide network of 61 domestic violence programs across the Commonwealth. Provides a list of useful resources as well as their current projects.

National Center for Victims of Crime

This site is geared toward helping crime victims rebuild their lives. NCVC addresses issues of stalking, dating violence, teen victims, and violence against women. Information on legislation, public policy, and civil litigation is available. Hotline for victims to get help is available in over 180 languages (TTY and email available).

National Network To End Domestic Violence

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is a social change organization dedicated to creating a social, political, and economic environment in which violence against women no longer exists.


Stalking

Stalking is an often overlooked form of power-based personal violence. Many service providers who work with dating/domestic violence and sexual assault can also assist victims/survivors of stalking. The links below provide some resources that can be useful. For further support, we recommend contacting your local DV or SA agency or provider.

SPARC

The Stalking Prevention and Resource Center (SPARC) helps professionals in support services and law enforcement recognize and respond to stalking. Their page has some useful resources for victims/survivors. They do not provide direct services.

Relationships and Safety from the Office on Women’s Health

The Office on Women’s Health provides national leadership and coordination to improve the health of women and girls through policy, education, and innovative programs. They have a helpful page on relationships and safety, including a section on stalking.

Safety Net Project from the National Network to End Domestic Violence

The Safety Net project at the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) explores the intersection of technology and domestic violence, stalking, sexual assault, and dating violence. Safety Net strives to help survivors increase their safety while continuing to use their technology through the provision of safety tips and tools.


Male Identifying/ied Resources

1in6 is the national resource for male-identifying survivors. They provide trainings and resource links that can be useful to survivors. They do not provide direct services.

This pledge is a personal commitment to help keep women and men safe from sexual assault. It is a promise not to be a bystander to the problem, but to be a part of the solution.

Men Can Stop Rape

Mobilizes male youth to prevent men’s violence against women by challenging harmful aspects of traditional masculinity, valuing alternative visions of male strength, and embracing their vital role as allies with women and girls in fostering healthy relationships and gender equity.

The White Ribbon Campaign

Working in over fifty-five different countries, the White Ribbon Campaign is the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women. Campaigns are led by both men and women, even though the focus is on educating men and boys.


LGBTQIAA+ Resources

Hudson Pride

Hudson Pride is New Jersey’s first Pride center. They provide an array of services for LGBTQIA+ individuals and for their local community in Jersey City.

Bucks County LGBTQ+ Center

The Bucks LGBTQ+ Center provides an array of therapeutic services to LGBTQ+ people in and around Bucks County, PA.

Mazzoni Center (Philadelphia LGBTQ+ Center)

The Mazzoni Center is Philadelphia’s largest direct service provider to LGBTQ+ people and offers a wide array of services and outreach.

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Community Center

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, & Transgender Community Center provides a wide array of services to LGBTQ+ people in the New York City area.

The Network/La Red

Resource provided in English and Spanish for females specifically in the lesbian, bisexual, and trans communities. Addresses battering within these communities as well as providing resources to victims and survivors of violence.


Culturally Informed Resources

Mindful and Multicultural Counseling

The Mindful and Multicultural Counseling therapy team offers a range of services for adolescents and adults 7 days a week. These services include therapy for trauma, depression, anxiety, pregnancy/postpartum, addiction, mastering mindfulness, and more. Many of their clinicians work within insurance networks, check their website to see if yours is covered.

Manavi

New Jersey-based (New Brunswick) organization that works to end violence against South Asian women (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka). Provides advocacy services, interpretation/translation, and transitional housing for victims and survivors as well as diversity/cultural sensitivity training to those working in the field.

Restore Forward

Restore Forward (formerly Black Women’s Blueprint) provides a wide array of information, trainings, and resources around racial equity and justice, recovering from interpersonal violence, and restorative justice practices.  They offer direct services in and around Brooklyn, NYC.

Provides a wide array of support services for those with victimization experiences abroad including an email for personal inquiries.

Resources for U.S. Citizens Victimized Abroad

Provided by the U.S. Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), this database offers resources to assist those who are victims of crime while travelling, working, or living abroad.
