April is nationally recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). During this month, AVI helps the TCNJ community to identify and de-escalate incidents of sexual assault. We also provide programming around healthy sexuality, gender socialization, how to identify and address rape culture, and ways to support survivors of sexual assault. Each April, we host Day to End Rape Cuture (DERC) as a major part of our programming efforts.
DERC highlights the various way society subtly promotes, excuses, and supports violence and teaches our community ways of addressing rape culutre in their day to day lives.
